Well Friends, I still haven’t updated my Africa blog to tell about outreach.. but to be honest I just don’t have the words to say for that yet.. So i’m just going to blog here. and tell about now.

This season of life has been.. quite a interesting season. Getting back from Africa and trying to figure out my life, get over jet lag, adjust to the huge difference in culture, etcetera. And in all the midst of that God has been ripping out every possible thing I’ve ever put my hopes or trust in other than Him. It’s a pretty painful process.. and not much of it has been fun to be honest, but when He takes you through the desert, you come out on the other side entering into the promise land.

A a few lines from a song by Chloe Leavers really have given me hope lately.

I know you’re scared and you can hardly breathe. I know you feel alone and empty, empty as can be. But don’t leave your joy behind.. no matter what you find.

I know everything is going to be okay. I place all my hope in the King and cling to His promise that He will make everything work out for my good. I lift my eyes off my own circumstances, and I keep my eyes on my savior and his beautiful grace.

So that’s really all for now, friends. Short and sweet. If you are hurting today, or feel like you’ve lost your joy, I pray that you will put all your hope in Jesus until you are so filled with His joy that you shine bright with the radiance of His glory.
